Say hello to Barney & Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-91446055456286094682012-09-17T08:47:00.001-04:002012-09-17T08:47:37.213-04:00Today is the dayToday is just as much excited day as it is sad... We are more or less packed and ready for vacation. We are taking the boat from Four Seasons over to St. Kitts at noon, and then vacation is on!! Rumpunch on the boat.. Bring it on!!!$?@
But first we have to drop off Daisy dog... That's so sad.. But she will be playing with her friend Zoey, and usually when we go there, she don't care about us!

On the 17th of this month I'm leaving this little rock and are heading for England! Believe it or not, but I have never been there. Maybe it's too close to Sweden, maybe the weather is too similar. But finally I will make it!
After exploring London and Canterbury, next stop is Charleston in the US! My old home! Very excited to see my old Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-26575895259532009542012-08-29T10:54:00.003-04:002012-08-29T10:54:59.581-04:00It's Yoga Time! This amazing girl, Tara Leigh, in Nevis went to Miami for 6 weeks or so to become a yoga instructor. Back on the rock she is showing off her new skills and 2 days in a row now, I have got up in the morning to join her for a morning session (on my days off I would like to note!)!
I quickly realized how unfit I am, how much I need stretching (I can't touch my toes standing up!) and how I need to Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-76827971679382653162012-08-20T17:51:00.000-04:002012-08-20T17:51:15.029-04:00MonkeysAs I was hanging my laundry yesterday on the side of the house I heard a lot of rattling in the bushes around the driveway. Looking closer it was a huge monkey pack hanging around on the neighbors pool deck, in the trees and walking on my wall on the back of the house.
Daisy was just as fascinated as I was and I think the monkeys were too! We were kind of just staring at each other! Since last blog post back in March, lots of things has happen.
Work wise, it's the same. It's supposed to be low season, but I can't feel it! However, I managed to get 5 days off in a row, and I'm on day 2 now! Well deserved!
I have moved from my little town cottage to ocean view house, and loving it. I now have a beautiful view of ocean and St. Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-68437273826812223272012-03-15T11:46:00.001-04:002012-03-15T11:46:29.126-04:00St. BarthWe made it!! We are now in St. Barth at the house. 4 days of eating and window shopping!
The trip over was interesting. A private little plane, 4 seats in the back and one next to the pilot! Landing in St. Barth was also fun. One of the most dangerous airports in the world, and I can see why!
Now we are going to explore the island and get something to eat! And most important of all, a glass ofCamillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-85502062505680091602012-03-14T23:49:00.001-04:002012-03-14T23:49:14.692-04:00Vacation is on!11:30pm... Can't sleep and I keep going over what to bring to St. Barth (in between my Angry Birds games)!
Tomorrow at 8am we will head over towards the airport here in Nevis. First time flying a "private jet" and we have no idea what we need to do at the airport! Lol! So it's better we are there on time.
So my question is, will I be allowed to sit in the cockpit?!
We have no plans for the Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-67368240756853637262012-03-08T22:53:00.001-04:002012-03-08T22:54:04.466-04:00Better AccessAs I finally have an iPhone, and to that, added the Internet to my phone plan, I can now update my blog more often.
I can't remember last I actually had time to sit with my computer at home and just surf. These days it's 2 min on the phone to check Facebook, Aftonbladet (Swedish news. Got to stay a little up to date on what's going in on back home) and that's it. Kind of sad actually.
I do Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-87297339388488944172011-12-17T11:47:00.002-04:002011-12-17T11:47:47.283-04:00The usual!I have said it before and I do it again... Between work and bad internet signal at home, it goes far too long between my updates! You don't appreciate good internet until you have been down here for a while!
So what have I been up to since last?
I managed to escape from the island for 3 nights and I ended up in Miami and stayed at our (that would be Four Seasons) hotel there. The trip was Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-37590120812918685432011-10-24T19:43:00.000-04:002011-10-24T19:43:02.576-04:00A day on FeistyI had a Sunday off and what better to spend it on a boat with good company!

We sailed off from Oualie Beach in Nevis with Miles and Feisty, down the coast line to Four Seasons Resort to waive at our coworkers who had to hold the fort down, while we were sipping on rum punch and Rose!

The last storm, Maria, was a tricky one though. We were all got ready at the hotel, and around the island. Boats were taken out of water (one of them were supposed to take me and some friends on a tour on yesterday.. Hmm.. Now it's on land for a few weeks for maintenance..). Four Seasons Nevis is doing their part in helping Sea Turtle Conservancy and when the hotel asked for volunteers to do turtle walk at night I was not slow to respond!
On top of needing volunteers they needed someone to drive a manual truck, in case we would find a turtle. As I do drive manual, I was designated the turtle driver!

And nothing different when we had the warning about Emily coming our way.
Usual preparation is getting water, some food that will last, make sure there are enough batteries and candles (you should always have candles and batteries as the power goes off on a regular basis around here). No updates on my blog. Shame on me!
Work has been intense as we keep staying busy, people being sick and going on vacation, and although I moved to my new place almost a month ago, it feels like I'm never home..!
I love my new place though! And best of all, Strawberry arrived!
Isn't she a beauty?!
I also got a CD player Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-11700497207575375522011-04-26T17:25:00.000-04:002011-04-26T17:25:11.927-04:00Thursdays is the happening night around here! That's the night Double Deuce turns in to a little club with DJ and all! The only thing is, it's almost always the same people, and almost all work at the hotel!
Earlier in the evening Double Deuce (bar/restaurant) have karaoke night, (which I usually try to skip) but after about 10-10:30 PM our chef and Asst. When we get busy you really get to show what you go for!
Last night I took my "resort golf cart license"! And I passed on my first try! LOL! So, now I can drive around the resort and I don't have to walk anymore.. (yea right!) Thanks John for the session!

We were lucky that our friend Will was over there with his car, so after a quick shopping round in the duty free area (where the cruise ship dock, and by the way, looks the same as any other island. Do they always have to have the same shopping?)Anyway, Will picked us up and we did a quick tour. It's a lot of fun, and specially now when I know how this resort works, i.e. who I need to contact etc. for different things!
Today I finally had a day off and it was well deserved! Last night I worked until about 11:30pm and after work I met up with friends at a house party, which later moved to a bar by the airport,Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-31581739329990952842011-03-23T17:58:00.000-04:002011-03-23T17:58:48.733-04:00Monkey see, monkey do?!This morning I woke up by a monkey on my roof. He was really loud!
There are a lot of monkeys around here and if it's not goats or donkeys you have to watch out for on the road, it's the monkeys! They are really cute though!
I have now finally moved out of the hotel and I am currently living with Trevor and Christina in their 2 bedroom house they are renting. I also have a rental car which Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-11067974051628786362011-03-15T11:12:00.000-04:002011-03-15T11:12:09.188-04:00Work has been busy and getting up at 5am takes at toll on me as I have been in bed (most of the time passed out too) by 8:30pm! My feet are also filled with blisters as I can not wear flip flops at work (I think they should consider that! LOL) But it's been fun and I am enjoying it so far! This week I will be doing the evening shift which I'm looking forward to!
I'm still living in the hotel as Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-71692015891427901872011-03-08T17:27:00.000-04:002011-03-08T17:27:43.545-04:00Back to reality! The Caribbean has not changed since I was here last (which I didn't expect, but still!), and I really need to get in to the island speed again!
I have now started working at the Four Seasons Resort in Nevis, and my team in room service seem to be a hard working team, which is great! Sunday was a crazy day as we had plenty of arrivals and amenities to deliver, but Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-65394347426143321332011-03-05T11:39:00.001-04:002011-03-09T18:38:17.152-04:00My introduction week has come to an end and tomorrow, Sunday, reality will hit hard when I have to be at work at 6 am! =)
On Thursday night I was picked up by some staff to go to Double Deuce for dinner and entertainment (Thursday nights are Karaoke night)!! One of the Sous Chefs was celebrating his birthday and a bunch of people from the hotel showed up.
After the Karaoke was done (thank God!)Camillahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03240799492249883341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6725095768063269288.post-45752789344158975322011-03-03T17:51:00.000-04:002011-03-03T17:51:11.815-04:00UpdateToday was the bank and the doctor on the schedule!
The doctor asked his questions, checked the blood pressure etc, and then he asked where I was from... Sweden, I said and he followed up asking if we had the Euro in Sweden... Odd questions I thought at the doctor's office, but I guess you need something to talk about.
